The music and the stunning colors of the film mix in harmony with the story. A crossroads made up by false accusation of a child for the murder of a bully, and a dusty town full of “vile, idiot” people who are the “true curse”.

The child (Darcey Wilson), now a grown woman (Kate Winslet), comes back to memory lane town where she encounters her mother, Molly Dunnage (Judy Davis), and the missing links of a story that will eventually free her of her ‘curse’, surpassing another tragedy nonetheless. A tragedy (Liam Hemsworth) in the sorghum.
